Your Questions

  • Is GMN International a network or an association?

    GMN International is an association that does not fall within the definition of “network” under the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Code of Ethics, section 290 and the European Union Statutory (revised 8th Company Law) Directive.

  • Does GMNI have standards of service which must be followed by members?

    Each member is legally independent and is expected to abide by the standards of service expected by their recognised professional body. Additionally there are standards of service that GMNI expects members to adhere to in respect of business referred between members.

  • How is GMN structured?

    The activities of GMNI are conducted by GMNI Coordination Limited, a company limited by guarantee and registered in England and Wales, company number 7809117. It operates on a not-for-profit basis. The board of Directors is responsible for the development and setting of strategy, policies and procedures which are implemented by the management committee, with support by the secretariat.


    There are five regions to which a member will be assigned to one. Each region has a regional board that is responsible for the administration of matters regionally.

  • Will we be able to sign reports in the name of GMNI?

    No. GMN International does not provide accountancy services to clients. Members provide services to their clients in their own name.

  • Will I be required to share information with other members?

    Each member has to complete an Annual Declaration providing key practice information, which, amongst other things, enables GMN International to participate in relevant surveys. A benefit of membership is that members freely exchange information and knowledge on a wide range of issues that are relevant to one another.

  • How does each member know the services that the other members provide?

    GMN International has a ‘members only section’ on the website that provides full details on the capabilities of each member.

  • Does GMNI provide any marketing materials?

    Each member is provided with a CD of GMN International brand identity assets to enable members to adopt the GMN International logo onto their website, stationery and communication materials. They are also provided with copies of the GMN International brochure. There are various other materials, such as a power point presentation, that is available for a member’s use.


    Members’ logos and information are included on the GMN International website together with a link to members’ websites. Members are encouraged to link their website to the GMN International website.

  • Does GMN International provide training?

    Continuing Professional Development remains the responsibility of each member in accordance with the requirements of their recognised professional body. At conferences and special interest group meetings a significant portion of time is devoted to matters that would be considered relevant to a member’s professional development.

  • As a member, how many events should I attend?

    GMN International places a large emphasis on creating networking opportunities at conferences and members are strongly encouraged to attend both the regional and international conferences held each year.

    There are other events and members are welcome to attend these as well. As a minimum a member should attend at least one meeting annually.

  • Are referrals fees paid?

    No. Fee arrangements on work referred between members are agreed between members prior to commencement of the assignment.
